BI Engineer | 8 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid | Starting ASAP

Job Overview As a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer on a corporate programme, you will play a key role in understanding and analyzing corporate services data, presenting it in a way that supports the programme. The immediate focus will be on developing reporting solutions using Oracle BI Publisher and OTBI. Therefore, the post holder needs to be an experienced BI Engineer with Oracle Fusion Cloud technologies. Functional expertise in Oracle Cloud HCM and ERP is also highly desired. In addition to report development, the post holder may be required to perform data quality and data analysis activities as needed. Experience with Excel and Power BI will be beneficial. The post holder is also expected to upskill permanent staff members on-the-job as the Data and Analytics function evolves within the directorate. This will occur on an ad hoc basis depending on staff needs.
Main Duties
- Develop reports on the Oracle Fusion cloud using OTBI & BI Publisher.
- Review current management information and analytics produced by existing systems for finance and human resources.
- Prepare data to support BI solutions.
- Prepare functional and/or technical specifications for reports built on Oracle Cloud - mainly HCM and ERP.
- Build reports according to business requirements and functional specifications.
- Produce relevant specification documents and provide technical advice on reports to non-technical colleagues.
- Summarised and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users.
- Utilised Oracle HCM and Oracle ERP (especially Finance modules) to build reports.
- Assist less experienced permanent staff in developing their Oracle Cloud report development skills.
- Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools).
- Identify, collect, and migrate data to and from various systems.
- Manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud reporting tools - OTBI & BI Publisher.
- Strong SQL scripting skills and the ability to perform data manipulation and/or pipelining jobs.
- Understanding of data preparation activities and data modeling, preferably within an HR and Finance setting.
- Experience working closely with users/organisations to understand and validate data inputs, and explain analysis outputs in business language.
- Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define reporting requirements via Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specification Documents, and Technical Specification Documents.
Desirable:
- Functional experience with Oracle HCM and ERP is highly advantageous.
- Practical experience with Excel, Microsoft BI, and/or Tableau for data analysis and BI purposes is highly advantageous.
