Job Title: CMDB Specialist (ServiceNow) Location: United Kingdom, Remote Salary: Competitive, based on experience Employment Type: Permanent About the Role Operating at significant scale, over 15 million Configuration Items (CIs) supporting a workforce of 300,000 employees, A global manufacturing organisation are seeking a proven CMDB professional who can balance strong governance with hands-on technical expertise. You will be an experienced CMDB Specialist and play a critical role in the governance, data quality, and technical implementation of the Configuration Management Database. The CMDB forms the foundation of the IT Service Management (ITSM) capability, supporting key processes such as Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Management across a highly complex organisation. Key Responsibilities * Ensure CMDB data quality, accuracy, and completeness, aligned to the ServiceNow CSDM framework * Define and enforce CMDB rules, guardrails, standards, and policies * Act as a key contributor to CMDB governance, while remaining technically hands-on * Support and improve the CMDB as the single source of truth underpinning ITSM processes * Design, implement, and maintain CMDB structures, CI classes, attributes, and relationships * Lead and support CMDB audits, controls, and reconciliation activities * Improve data visualisation and reporting, enabling better insight into services, dependencies, and risk * Work closely with platform, infrastructure, cloud, and service owners to ensure accurate CI ownership * Support continuous improvement of CMDB maturity in a large-scale enterprise environment Required Skills & Experience * Proven experience as a CMDB Specialist with a strong implementation background * Demonstrable track record of operating and improving CMDBs at scale * Strong knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM alignment * Experience balancing governance responsibilities with technical delivery * Deep understanding of how CMDB supports and enables ITSM * Ability to operate effectively in a high?volume, complex environment * Strong attention to detail and a data-quality-first mindset Certifications & Qualifications * ServiceNow CMDB-related certifications (required) * ITIL or ITSM certifications (desirable) * Additional ServiceNow technical certifications (advantageous) Why Join? * Opportunity to work on one of the largest CMDB environments globally * Influence and improve the foundational data layer that underpins ITSM * Blend strategic governance with meaningful hands-on technical work * Collaborative enterprise-scale environment with strong professional standards
