Digital IT - Job DescriptionFunction: Digital DesignRole Title: Business Analyst (G8)Reports To: Lead ArchitectOverview The Digital Design function manages and defines a conceptual architectural blueprint of digital technology, structure, and operation to determine how the University can effectively achieve and evolve its current and future objectives.The function is made up of an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architects and Business Analysts. IT Business Analysts are responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services, researching and analysing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to meet business problems and needs.The Digital IT Service is a 24/7 operation and there may be a requirement to work out of hours, when required to ensure high service availability and completion of planned changes.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Eliciting, defining, validating, and documenting the University's existing business processes prior to leading the design, definition, and documentation of required process change.</li><li>Definition, validation, and dissemination of business and functional requirements, whilst supporting and facilitating business change. S/he will also be able to understand, document and manage the needs and opinions of a wide range of stakeholders, and act as the primary conduit between the customer community and IT design, development, operational and service teams and in some instances, execution of User Acceptance Testing and User Training.</li><li>Lead the design, definition and documentation of required business and IT process changes, benefits, and outcomes.</li><li>Lead, facilitate, and support business change initiatives across the organisation, ensuring stakeholder needs and expectations are managed.</li><li>Organise and facilitate workshops that will map and document "as is" and "to be" processes and determine and develop commitment and buy-in to the required change.</li><li>Create benefits profiles, benefits realisation plans, gap analysis, process maps, process/procedure guides. </li><li>Liaise internally and externally, for the purpose of agreeing common processes and system functionality and share best practice.</li><li>Use process mapping software tools to a high degree of proficiency to define and document processes.
