Hello! I’m James (AKA Jimmy DevOps) and I’m a Senior Consultant part of the Harvey Nash Birmingham team.
I have over 9 years experience in the technology sector and strong skills in recruitment, business development, account management, community development, events organisation and a tiny bit of public speaking.
At Harvey Nash, I partner with some of the most exciting businesses who are scaling their DevOps & Engineering functions. A full 360 role with a generous mix between business development and candidate delivery.
Alongside this, I play a decent-sized part in the development of the Tech Community within Birmingham and the West Midlands. I'm an active organiser of multiple technology user groups and meetups including; AWS West Midlands, DevOpsDays Birmingham and Golang Birmingham, as well as being a co-organiser of TechMids, which is the biggest software development conference in the West Midlands!
Outside of the office, I’m a huge people person and value spending time with family and friends. I spend a lot of time in the gym and love a good hike with my friends, nothing better than fresh air after a week staring at a laptop!
I will never (EVER) say no to a game of pool, I’ve probably got my cue in the car.
One of the most memorable pieces of advice I ever received was ‘whether you tell yourself that you can or you can’t, you’re probably right.’
